BGV supports the Black Girl Ventures Foundation programming. Our mission is to create access to social and financial capital for Black and Brown women founders.
The Black Girl Ventures Pitch Competition is a collaboration between community, funders and entrepreneurs to fund Black/Brown women entrepreneurs. We flip the traditional pitch competition on its head - we charge at the door (creating our own micro fund), eliminate the judges and empower the community (audience) to ask questions and vote for the winner.
We hold competitions in multiple cities around the U.S. We may be coming to a city near you!
The Money Tree Accelerator
The Money Tree Accelerator (MTA) is a 8-session intensive access to capital program with a specific focus on training cohorts about various types of capital, which types of funding is applicable for their business, accessing influential networks, investment readiness and personal finance.
MTA is open to pitch applicants only. Apply to pitch to be invited to the next MTA.
The Black Girl Ventures (BGV) Content Camp is a full day hackathon-style event where participants work with social media influencers, content creators and industry experts to create their next month of social media and/or blog content. Participants will walk away with product photos, headshots and a new network!
The How-To Fest
The How-To Fest is a one day summit style event full of fun lightening talks, panels and community engagement. We kick off the day with an Adult Pep Rally and end the day with a pitch competition for women of color Makers and Creatives. “How to…” is the number one searched phrase on the internet. YouTube has opened the door for an instructional video phenomenon where you can learn to do everything from how to tie your shoe to how to curl your hair on YouTube. There’s a little DIY inside everyone. We bring the maker out of everyone by creating a crowdsourced learning experience where experts across various fields come together to share their knowledge of the topics they love.
Do you know How To do something you'd like to share? Submit your idea and you could be a speaker at the How To Fest!
The Pink & Black Gala
The Black Girl Ventures Annual Fundraising Gala is a night of celebration for Black and Brown women ventures including a cocktail hour, dinner, dancing and instead of the traditional silent auction we have a pitch competition to help Black/Brown founders access capital for their businesses.
